Menu: |
This is an amazing 40's retro cafe in the market-town of Otley. It sells fresh home made treats such as scones, millionaire's shortbread and wonderful tasting cakes, fablous latte, great pots of tea in spotted pink teapots, other hot and cold drinks including an artery hardening delicious rich hot chocolate, as well as paninis, butties, breakfasts with beautiful locally-produced bacon, the best cakes you will ever taste, jacket potatoes and more. |
Service: |
When you walk through the door you are met by a group of the nicest people. The always give you a smile and a wave or a little chat if they're not too busy. The staff are always so kind, helpful and cheerful and the "Pink Ladies" look great in their little pink spoted outfits. customers are usually shown to a table by one of the 'Little Pink Helpers' |
Access: |
The cafe is very small and does not have much room for prams but is accessible by wheelchair users. I am mobility impaired and use a wheeled walking frame and need to fold it when the cafe is busy. The staff are helpful when it comes to assisting disabled customers but prams can be a problem but not so much pushchairs that can be folded. The cafe has a limited number of high chairs for the younger patrons. |
Catering for dietary requirements: |
Once you have placed your order then you can be as fussy as you need to be, "I'd like a bacon sandwhich, but with all the fat cut off, no butter and it cut into triangles" , "a cheese ploughmans sandwich, no bread" or "a very very very weak latte" they will do it for you. without the slightest huffy attitude, they see happy to accommodate. They have the attitude it is in their best interest to make sure everything is of the highest standard. |
Other: |
The atmosphere is quirky, retro and very relaxed. The music is very 40's , the Andrew Sisters. The uniform is pink polka dotted, including their socks and WWII style turbans are worn by the girls. There is a really cool board with 'messages' from famous people who have supposedly 'visited' the cafe. It is fun to read the testimonials. It seems that none other than Mr Elvis Presley had dropped in for a cuppa, I wish I could have seen that. The cafe decor is beautiful,as the name suggests its very pink. The walls display vintage-style posters and plaques with little messages. My favourite is 'I can only please one person a day, today is not your day and tomorrow doesn't look too good either'. The tables are covered in pink and white polka dot table cloths.
I have never been so impressed with a cafe! Each time I walk in, I am greeted with a smile and a wave. The staff are always so kind and cheerful and I love their little pink spotty outfits. I am led to a table by one of the 'Little Pink Helpers' (as they are called on the menu) and then I get to the bad bit...having to choose out of all the gorgeous choices! I normally go for a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows (mmm!) and scones with jam and cream, or a chocolate milkshake and
The cafe is not very expensive, and it is well worth it's cost. The downside is that sometimes you have to queue as it is a small but VERY popular cafe
All in all, its the nicest cafe i've been to in Yorkshire!.I have NEVER ever seen an unhappy customer there! |
